Nothing could ever prepare you for what east coast humidity feels like.

If you REALLY want to experience a large, wet sauna situation - visit New York anytime between June and August. The heat radiating off the buildings is everything you imagine it to be and MORE... along with the smells that come with it. Summers in Manhattan are moist, sweaty, moist and more of the sweaty. Did I mention the amplification of body odor on public transit? (insert teethy 'yikes-face' emoji here) I've basically got to arrive 20 minutes early to work, or anywhere for that matter, to cool down and dry off before being seen. Otherwise, I legit look like the girl off of The Ring... Now, that's some scary shit. I just got goosebumps. You can't un-see that.

Also, forget showers. You jump in the shower and you're wet right? You get out and dry yourself off but you're still wet. It's like freaking magic! A horrible, horrible magic trick.

You'd think the summer rainstorms would help? Big nope! The rain falls onto the hot pavement and then the pavement gets all nice and steamy. Like, I should steam and sell some dumplings on the street for extra cash because everyone knows how expensive living in the city is - Haha seriously though. Just consider yourself a hot-sweaty-mess during your commute. No getting around it here. Unless you've got that cash money's and dare Uber around the city with that amazing air conditioning. Not recommended of course.

On a positive note: the humidity helps my skin not be as dry. I don't need to schlep on all that body butter to retain any bit of moisture. Haha!

later gator,

It's crazy how so much has happened since my last post in 2013! Let me give you a lil' run down with a bulleted list to ease your tired reading eyes because I KNOW FOR A FACT you've been on your phone and computer multiple times today probs just scrolling through Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat... June 2014 | We got married! Hells yass, finally!

August 2014 | Mike moves to New York to start law school at Columbia.

September 2014 | Jen stays back in Salt Lake to finish her undergrad at the University of Utah.

April 2015 | Jen graduates with her bachelors! Boom baby!

June 2015 | 1 Year Anniversary!

August 2015 | Jen officially moves to the big apple and realizes this is the first time she'll be living with her husband. (eyes widen in shock)

| There is a gap here because let's be honest, life happens and not much to point out here. |

May 2016 | Mike starts summer associate in Salt Lake.

Which leaves Jen alone in New York for the summer. Haha. No need for the sympathy but I'll post about the things I learned while being by myself for the first time... EVER. I know, a bit pathetic as I'm a full fledged adult nearing her 30s. This will be good though. Real therapeutic.

Until then.
